Thank you for posting these images MABO.

It looks as if this may well be the 'pre-summer' cavalry set release that Strelets have mentioned. Any new set for their WoSS range is welcome IMHO, although the 'Horse Grenadiers' was a fairly small and fairly unique unit: a single squadron of the Maison du Roi.

The set, whilst somewhat useful, is therefore not as useful as - shall we say - a set of 'French Line cavalry In Advance'; such a set could be used in quantity for French, Spanish, Bavarian and other allied armies, whereas the Horse Grenadiers have a very specific appearance and place in the army of Louis XIV.

The senior officer waving his tricorne is an excellent figure who has already secured his place as another General in my French WoSS army!

As Strelets often say, "we will be guided accordingly".

They could be WWI French as well. Not a ton of difference. Probably one of the reasons they lost in 1940.

A lovely tempting selection, especially the French they could be used for lots of nations in puttees, with just maybe a head swap

I have purchased quite a lot of the Strelets WoSS cavalry boxes, and none of the figures has been missing a leg. This looks like an unfortunate but hopefully rare production problem. There has been a slight problem with some of the horses however, and a few of them have not been moulded properly.

The Strelets site does have a Contact tab, although whether this varies between countries I am not sure. I am based in the UK, so the contact I have here is: strelets@hotmail.co.uk

If this is a production error you have to contact them, joking or not. ;-)

It looks like the e-mailadress Mark (Minuteman) posted here is the right one. I get the same and I live in Belgium.

I have one of the Strelets WOSS boxes but everything looks pretty good. A horse or two are a tad warped, but still usable. I may be able to use hot water to fix them up. All legs present and accounted for!

Too good to wait till Friday. :-D

These have the worsted tufts of the battalion companies, that's good to see.

Further figures for an apparently soon to be released Nap. British Infantry firing line/"action" set.
As it has already been mentioned at the Strelets Forum, these figures are of course equally useful for the north american War of 1812. ;-)

I'm seeing a steady improvement in Strelets model making with figures more realistically proportioned and naturalistic in pose. The faces in particular are improving quite a bit. I was disappointed with the Austrian grenadier sets but everything since their new Bavarians have been getting better and better. Well done Strelets!
