They look quite similar to the earlier set. Is the chest-belt arrangment the primary difference?

Thank you for your kind words Rich.

I currently have my hands full and have several thousand Austrians in boxes for Aspern Essling hopefully.

Then there is the Normandy stuff ready to go.

Der Feldmarschall will go bonkers if I started another project.

Best wishes,

Chris

I believe they are wearing a steel cuirass and that is the main difference. It's not obvious on some of the figures in these pictures but if you had them in your hands I think you would see the cuirass worn under the coat.

Hello,
true, didn't see this at first, but most of them wear cuirass. In any case these are generic cuirassiers. Can be used for many countries.
I like these "at rest" poses, but wouldn't be sad if there came up a "cuirassier in attack" as well.

Could be with that British helmet. And if not he will certainly be usefull for it. ;-)

PS: that is a weird way to carry that helmet. In the back or besides should be more realistic. I presume this guy would not like to hear the word "DOWN" now!

Looks more like WW2 north african (argelian or moroccan) units under french Leclerc's command...
Very useful for sicilian and italian 1944 campaigning...

What if the guy just wants to protect his descendency? Like they had this harness piece in the late medieval times?

Is he WWI or WWII? Weapon looks WWII, so indeed a goumier, no?

Many of the Free French at Bir Hakiem wore the type of helmet depicted below the figure's waist.

I think of it as the early war British helmet but many different armies have used something similar, including WW2 U.S. soldiers in the earliest stages of the war in the Pacific.

@ Fire at Will

I hope so that we get that.
But the helmet on the figure look more britisch.
We need instead a French Adrian helmet for the Goumiers.

Late war Napoleonic British casualties....In the Strelets terminology, this suggests a British/KGL set 'In Action' or 'Firing Line', in which case either (or both) should be well-received, especially if the style and quality of sculpting seen with their more recent Napoleonic sets is maintained.

For quite some time now there has been a call amongst members of the Strelets Forum for more 'active' Napoleonic sets, to complement the variety of 'standing' sets that this manufacturer has been producing. Could this be the start of a range of Napoleonic infantry in Action sets this year/2022 ?

Well - I would by highly grateful to get more sets of soldiers in advance and - what is really rare to see - soldiers in close combat. Especially Russians, Prussians and French.
