For an unknown reason to me PSR never announces a review of the mini-Zvezda sets.
So for those who missed it: http://www.plasticsoldierreview.com/Review.aspx?id=2722

Three NCOs and a machine gun? Where have are all the grenadiers gone? (as far as I know, only the NCO should have a submachine gun, the others should be armed with carbines.

Don't really much like the AoT sets, expensive, and a bit "stiff" on the poses. Too few soldiers for me. I hope Zvezda returns to make new big sets!

That was more or less my opinion too, in the past. Especially the small infantry sets I skipped for not being a real addition to existing big format sets.
But only recently I found that their guns are about the best on the market so right now it’s order after order to get them before they’re out of sale. And even those gun crews are pretty good as they anticipate in what they’re doing, i.e. really handling the gun.
And more variety in e.g. mortar teams and mg teams is always welcome to me!
Btw: their 1/72 tank range is also pretty good.
And well, about the price: I willingly pay £3,50 for a good metal mortar or heavy mg team. So €3,95 for the small Zvezda plastic sets is very reasonable in my point of view.

But indeed: ideally they’ll start making new big format sets.
But I’m afraid that time has passed....

I really like Zvezda 1/72 figures, by far the best plastic figures.

I prefer metal ones, 20mm.

anyway I miss big kits with more figures like Russian and German army the done years ago, they would be reinjected in hard plastic, it would be a plus.

With these two new kits:

The mortar crew
The figures seems to be real person scanned, and when you're spending so much money you have to take care of small details, Thera are only two people for all the caracters, and one of Them has no neck, so high legs, and small heads.
They all carry too much equipment, even when they are supposed tone firing, and the equipments is wrong, the canteen has never being carried that way, and all are the same mould, the best is the mortar piece.

The Waffen SS Team
All of them are carrying submachine guns, and seems to be beginning-mid war, because of the snmocks, boots and the MG36, but one of them is carrying a Stg44 that is a late gun, only this detail makes the boots could be wrong, the more SS soldiers in late war wore mid boots with leggings, I miss a rifle, Mauser or a late g43 for this set.

Anyway, as I said, by far Zvezda are the best 1/72 figures by now, and they art of tactics series are supreme.

I certainly agree with your points about the equipment of the mortar team: too much and some parts are at the wrong place.

No! PPS-43 (or -42: difference is to small for 1/72 scale): "Pistolet-Pulemyot Sudaeva" ("Sudaev's SMG") - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PPS_submachine_gun A very interesting thing...
But there no PPSh with a box magazine - much more widely used then a PPS.
