I liked the Persian archer quite a lot. And were those guys with the wooden spike frames on their backs Immortals?

Not really, they are fantasy types for "desert people" inspired in the look of "haradrim" warriors appearing in Peter Jackson films for Lord of The Rings trilogy (for tolkien they were some kind of desert kingdom supporting the evil side with troops and huge elephant-like beasts, the Mumakil)
Actually historical Persian troops look very different (these figures look mostly Arabic-sarracen) but therefore they could match as fantasy persians from movie "300"

Any way

Thanks. I am no expert on what the Immortals really looked like. I assumed it was not the way they looked in 300

Don't worry - if the company's previous form is anything to go by, they'll have disappeared from the market before many people have the chance to buy them...

Dito for the gunpowder castle . And I paid more.
So buy Ultima Ratio sets even if you doubt about using them in one of your projects.
I heard from several sources some time ago that Ultima Ratio stopped making 1/72 sets, so an new set was already the big surprise to me.

Probably, because they don't last long in the arena. :xd:

It's interesting that the box says the set contains Murmillos, Secutors and Scissors. Do we actually know what Scissors looked like? I expect it will be something armed with a Cobblers knife but we really don't know that.

I was thinking a similar answer heje
Commodus organized so many and big Games that he would have needed a lot of 1/72 sets for sure

Nobody knows what a scissor looked like, but many speculations and reenactor reconstructions (more or less "serious") can be found in the web (provocator or secutor helmet, maybe armour, short sword and strange circular pizza-cutting device..)

I find there new unseen figures: our pizZa cutter scissor, as well as interesting special figs as the referee (Summa Rudis; it is not very known that roman goaduator fights had some rules and were controlled by a referee, usually an old gladiator himself), a civilian woman with victors crown (maybe a Vestal) or the "Charon"( the funny figure with devil mask and hammer..he was supposed to "finish off" the bad injuried gladiators and "help" them to cross the river to Afterlife the same as mythological Charon did in his boat)
Rest of gladiators show more familiar topologies but variety is always good. I will buy them before they dissapear

I notice a partly new set on the vk site: Italian Militiamen 1260-1392. Half of it is already on view on PSR (but never had that in my hands) and the other half is unknown to me.
Can’t post the pictures so hope anyone else will do?
