Thanks, Graeme.
The Pom-Pom might be manned by a scratch crew of Highlanders, I guess. I will look further.

Rank and file in greatcoats, command figures not - strange decision of the Strelets-R.

French Line Infantry on the march 2.
Well, I don’t get why they did this so wrong. Pitty.
Why?

As a response about the remarks that the rifles are carried (wrongly) on the left shoulder Strelets says on their forum:
the idea behind is to have all stages:
marching in columns on the road
marching in formations on battlefield before fire contact with an enemy
approaching enemy under fire
attack

Which in my case means I’ll pass on this set. Approaching under fire and attack sounds good. Do not necessarily need a firing line, attacking is fine though.

Some nice figures on the French command sprue. And the Austrian Sapper looks like a one man army. :-)

Once again no relation to what the actual Rif rebels looked like. At least they match the foot set in that regard.

The Rifs were Berbers, not Arabs, so they should not look like this. Also, the Rifs had no cavalry. Other than that, great set?

Maybe they're Riffs, but Raffs?

Figures for the Strelets French line infantry in overcoats at ease are up.
And they do like okay. But I still don’t know what to do with them, having no epaulettes and two crossbelts.

To use them as young guard voltigeurs is a possibility, with in mind that the epaulettes were not always worn. But the use of such a set? For instance for my Plancenoit projects I can use more active poses: firing line, advancing, even marching.
Having multiple sets of figures doing nothing at that phase of the battle is quite silly.

No epaulettes but 2 crossbelts = Saxon line infantry ;-) Either that, or they are all sergeants :-)

Can never have enough figures from the North African and Mediterannian campaigns.
