Nicely done.

The russian guy did really an amazing job. If only he had chosen a bigger beast...

The images for the boxes and the backs of the boxes are up on the Dark Alliance site for the Nomads and Steppe horsemen (Easterlings and Rohirrim) and the the centaurs.

Kind of excited - the Rohirrim are really nice, and of course the centaurs are excellent.

You are totally right, I think the same..Actually for my rohan riders I took previously some figures frommstrelets russian, so they seem to match the "rohan canon" somehow.
With this 10 new figures I can boost to nearly 50 mounted figures from previously adapted and converted figures, which hopefully can look together good on the table for representing Pellenor Fields and so on

Ps.you can als change shields to round one s so that you can use most of them!

So these arrived today

Very nice figures, reminiscent of a certain series of films. Very little flash and in a departure for DDS - they're labelled DDS on the sprue but the box is labelled Light Alliance - they have extra bits on the sprue - bow cases, quivers, a sword to replace one of the two lances and a saddle bag (probably somewhere to carry a hobbit)
The shields of the figures are nicely detailed with appropriate Rohirrim heraldry.
And the horses are really nice aswell, I can see them coming in for a lot of other things as well.

The hole in this model is obviously for the extra pieces - bow case etc - but an extra hole drilled in another model wouldn't be a problem.
Also note the little pins on each side of the horse bases - 2 to a side - obviously there was an issue with stability.

:yeah: excellent review Steve !

Just bought this set (and the nomads 1 ).... and I'm not depicted ! :-D
I'm waiting for them ...

They are perfect for Rohirrim ! And the Art box will be useful too for the painting.

but you said :

a saddle bag (probably somewhere to carry a hobbit)

awesome sets again 8) Dark Alliance brings 1/72 fantasy on a new level!

If they would go more into classic fantasy (e.g. D&D-style roleplaying games) instead of the quite specific Lord of the Rings movies, then I would love them even more :yeah:

Does anyone already have some rumors for even newer sets?

I'm not aware of any rumoured sets, Haron keeps these things close to his chest. Others may know more.
