Redbox Russian Guard Infantry (1804-1807)

Posted by marc zijp on 17 Feb 2018, 23:05

Some pictures on the Russian vk site.
This is the front of the box: https://m.vk.com/photo-7879149_45624432 ... om=profile
I remember Haron Orion said on the Strelets site that he made them and this is just one of four boxes.
Some pictures of Pavlov Grenadiers (masters?) were also shown half year ago on vk.
Good thing to see more Russians.
Personally I need 1812 and later Russian Napoleonic infantry more, but that’s my problem of course!

A very interesting option! I like the figures and also that RedBox takes care of this period. Maybe there are some more new figs comming for Austerlitz and Jena... :yeah:

I think it’s not unlikely at all! Now that they step into napoleonics they will almost for sure do subjects (almost) never done before. For Redbox always do untouched periods and different units. And they do it with a high production and on the average on a good workmanship base and quite thouroughly too.
I think we should applaud and thank them for this. And the only way to thank them is to buy them.
I bought several sets for which I have no idea where to use them for. Like the Italian renaissance infantry set 1 for instance, arquebusiers and crossbowmen. Very happy with this set.

Thanks for sharing the good news. :yeah:

This four new sets of russian infantry 1804-07 will fill quite a gap in 1/72, since all of Häts “1805“ sets are substandard. :eh:
Hope RedBox will consider french & prussian figures for this period as well!

I agree totally with Erich. It was a gap for good russian infantry before 1808. And it exists still a gap for russian jaeger and fusiliers in summer uniform for 1812-15.

And prussians before 1812 are still missing too - and still a dream for many collectors. The Haet figures had a strange sculpting with huge heads and short bodies which doesn´t fit to other miniatures.

and are missing too: napoleonic russian (before 1812) and prussian foot and horse artillery (after 1810) which is really a pity for many campaigns.....

Would be very interested in all the subjects you named & more. ;-)

Maybe the chances to see more 1/72 sets for the 3rd & 4th coalition wars are quite good at the moment.
Considering how RedBox and Haron dealt with the conflicts and periods they started in the past, I wouldn‘t be too surprised if more napoleonic sets would follow the four announced ones.

I truly hope that they‘ll find a way to address their recurring casting/moulding issues though.

Let us hope that Redbox or Strelets will find more interest to produce the missing sets.

These news look really good.
Only drawback - Haron announces on the VK site that they will appear only at the end of 2018...
We'll need to wait, but that has always been the case in our hobby...
