Italeris 2018 catalogue is not fully confirmed yet, but it seems that we're going to see the following this year.

6182 - "Battle at Malinava 1944" WWII playset, 2 russian Izbas & a Barn with 2 Tiger I kits, IS-2, T-34/85 & germ. + sov. inf.
6183 - "Beau Geste Touareg Revolt", french north afrika playset (most probably Esci 237 "FFL", 238 "Muslim Warriors" with building & scenery ?)
6184 - "Vietnam War", playset (potentially Esci 229 "NVA/Vietcong", 228 "US Forces" & scenery ?)

6187 - "Colonial" Wars british Infantry/Sepoys (Esci set 232 ?)
6188 - Crimean War brit.11th Hussars (Esci set 220 ?)
6189 - WWII Free French Infantry (Esci set 205 ?)
6190 - Cold War/1980s Warsaw Pact Troops (Esci set 242 ?)
6191 - Cold War/1980s Nato Troops (Esci set 241 ?)

7074 - Flakpanzer IV Wirbelwind, germ. WWII AA-tank (Esci 8063)
7075 - M60A1Patton, US/Nato cold war tank (Esci/Ertl kit 8315)

The presumable building & scenery items within the playsets aside, there's not much actually new here. Surely many hobbyists will appreciate the re-releases of the good old Esci sets nevertheless.
In the last years Italeri also released more kits & sets than they respectively announced. So, there could be more to come.

Anyway, I'm glad that at least all of the former "big three" (Revell, Italeri & Zvezda) still rummage in 1/72 to some extent.

If more news become available, I will post them here and there.

That is a very good thing and I've taken the opportunity of getting restocks from all three. But I do wish Revell had restocked the other half of their Napoleonic range.

Thanks for posting this information Erich, it's handy to know what's being run this year. It's even handier to know what's maybe NOT being run, I might be buying a few things while they're still in the shops.

Just when I finished my earlier posting, I found that Italeris offical 2018 newsletter is online now.

http://www.italeri.com/imgup/Preview%202018(1).pdf

More details on their latest playsets.

6183 - "Beau Geste – Algerian Touareg revolt 1877-1912", french north afrika playset
It indeed seems to contain:
- "French Foreign Legion" (Esci 237 ?)
- "Arab Warriors" (Esci 238 ?)
- "Desert Legionary Fortress" (formerly known as Italeri 6139 "African House")
- "Desert Well and Tents" (Italeri 6148)
- "Stone Walls" (Italeri 6127)

6184 - "Vietnam War", playset
- "NVA/Vietcong" (Esci 229 ?)
- "US Special Forces" (Esci 228 ?)
- M48 Patton (Esci/Ertl 8322 or 8336) Wasn't aware this tank saw service in Vietnam? :eh:
- M113 (Esci/Ertl 8305)
- Bell UH-1C Gunship
- Observation Tower & First Aid Post (both part of Italeri 6130)
- 2 vietnamese huts (MDF Laser cut)

Again, these battle-sets offer a very good price-performance ratio and should be interisting for older & younger hobbyists at the same time.

A bunch of reissues, I suspect. I guess it is better than nothing.

Thanks for keeping us informed all the time!
Interesting informations. But one or another new set from the "Big Three" would have been welcome. I agree.

this is so disapointing... Italeri policy is hard to understand : i guess figs are not on their scope anymore, even if i'm always glad to see an another tribute of the marvellous work of the old italian Esci/ertl.

Indeed disappointing for me too (they are mainly old figure sets ,older than 25 years..) some of them even re-released not long ago..they want to sell stocks?
It seems that 1/72 figs market fell down irreversible..we are old elephants here.. Only Strelets, Mars and Redbox keep on creating, but how long still?

Nothing new, but I'm very interested in that Vietnam battle set! And more specific for those huts! ;-)

Why don't they release those seperate? :eh:

I know but it's good to see them reissued. Getting them on eBay costs a fortune and it's good for newcomers to the hobby who don't have them.

Doesn't Italeri have any good sculptors? Re-releases are disappoiting for me (yes, I'm aware sometimes it's only possibility to get old miniatures patterns in this way )... but I prefer new sets...

Italeri listed their current release batch yesterday.
Unexpectedly, they announcd the imminent re-release of their nice Gladiators (6062). :yeah:

On the other hand they still have to release some previously announced stuff.

6184 - "Vietnam War", playset (Esci 229 & 228, Patton tank, M113 APC, Bell UH-1C Gunship + quite some scenery)
6189 - WWII Free French Infantry (Esci 205)
6190 - Cold War/1980s Warsaw Pact Troops (Esci 242)
6191 - Cold War/1980s Nato Troops (Esci 241)

This four and the "Malinava" & "Beau Geste" playsets were the ones I kept an eye on this year.

The playsets simply offer great value for money and some fine scenery items.
The Cold War figures are still very useful and top quality.
The initially pointless "WWII French" will all loose their heads & help to improve Häts very poor WWII artillery crews (just one of the countless setbacks Hät churned out). Their bodies will beef up western allied forces after appropriate head-swaps.

While I totally understand that many enthusiasts are disappointed with Italeris current publication-policy, I still appreciate their small forays into 1/72.
The steady re-release of long time oop Esci or Italeri kits and the addition of new & useful components to their attractive playsets clearly demonstrates that they have not withdrawn from 1/72 in general.

That said, I truly hope that we'll see fresh 1/72 stuff from them one day again! :yeah: ;-)

Have to add that the Vietnam playset was also part of Italeris announcement yesterday.

6184 - Operation Silver Bayonet - Vietnam War 1965

https://www.italeri.com/scheda.asp?idProdotto=2769

Some shops accept pre-orders already.

As mentioned before, value for money here. :yeah:
