STRELETS - Highlanders Standing at Ease

Posted by Konrad on 07 Jul 2017, 20:07

STRELETS offers another set of their highlander series.
Again great figs!
Note the bagpiper and the drummer. :yeah:
Very nice in my opinion.

They look fantastic, though they are not my period... I hope Strelets won´t mess it up with the quality of the sprue...

Wow. Looks like a musthave item. Astonishing.
Are they already for sale?
Any idea when the line infantry set will be available?

That bagpiper looks fantastic! I would love to see a rematch between Sho and Mr. X painting that figure, while FredG stands by for technical consultation/looks on with loving admiration.

Well my new sprue cutter will certainly be very active cutting these off when mine arrive. They certainly do look very good and well pleasing to the eye.

Strelets, sure have cornered the market on small scale production of larger size sets in my mind over the past few years, with Big Companies only interested in combination sets and changing box art on old style figure production rather than more figure input into the hobby.

Will gamers like these? I do not know, but they would certainly look colourful upon any table top for many of my friends and authors on the internet.
Along with the marching set with flags a flying this set is a big addition for the avid painter to have good reason a plenty for dipping more brushers in, in this highly affordable scale. :-D BB

Some of the hands are poorly sculpted esp 3rd row 2 fig in from the left and some of the arms look dislocated (off the shoulder) first row 1 fig in -"-.
These heads are so much better than the Strelets Crimean Highlanders' heads. Next clear out guess what is going?
There seem to be different sculptors working on these figures top row 3 in -"- and 3rd row 2 and 4 in -"- the heads seem to be caricature top row to highly realistic 3rd row. I am convinced the last figure in the 3rd row is based on Andrew Neil ( tame BBC Scotsman and German wine fan)Image

Looks fantastic, but masters are masters, the finished product may be something else, so many great sets have looked good in advance but disappointing when realized..
