Hat unmarried Zulu warriors........stop press......

Posted by zulu`s 1000`s of em on 30 Sep 2016, 21:27

Hat are about to start a crowd funding project for their long awaited unmarried Zulu warriors , looks like at least a twelve figure set, so all you guys in to colonials / Zulu war/s / 19th century Africa please support the project, the more support the sooner we get them, and it encourages Hat to fund more sets the same way . They are also doing a set of 1/32 Nappy Austrians on crowd funding too.

Suggestions please, where else can I let the 1/72 world know about Hats unmarried Zulu` project ? I have posted here, Strelets, facebook, and have rejoined with a view to posting the Victorian wars forum. What other 1/72 groups exist so I can spread the word and drum up support ?

No, it`s just a temporary out of stock, Hat have grown and have over 300 sets, the factory in China makes other plastic products too, so production time has to be booked in advance and Hat have to guess what is going to sell and in what quantity world wide, then run those sets, if some out sell forecast it leaves an out of stock until the next production slot, some have, tank riders and Zulu`s being just two, both it`s my understanding are on the next restock list. The unmarried Zulu`s are being done in a new factory, and if all goes well that may well help free up the log jam. The other issue is the supply chain, no one wants to hold stock in quantity, because it tie`s up money, online sellers, retailers, wholesalers, distributor, no one wants stock/money gathering dust, so generally when they are being asked for an order they order what they can sell in a short turn around, hoping the distributor will have more, they too do not want stock sat on the shelf, so we end up with a famine and feast situation. No easy solution other than buy all you need when you see them. Hope that helps.

Its worth noting that Hat are no worse than other manufacturers in fact they are in most respects better, they are just a victim of their own success. Try buying some of the old Strelets sets or Airfix for that matter, when was the last time they released Arabs...1990 ish, the old Strelets moulds I suspect are worn out, that would explain why some of their most requested sets are not re released. With Hat the moulds are good and the figures can be run time and time again, but unlike Airfix`s Arabs your not going to have to wait decades to get them again.

Not me. I only want one, perhaps two. Aren't they a bit expensive?
I wish the best for this kind of sales of course, but personally I like to see pictures and reviews of the finished products first before I buy sets.
