New First To Fight minis

Posted by 172Fixer on 19 Sep 2014, 02:12

Has anyone noticed the First To Fight minis posted on Henk of Holland's website?

http://henk.fox3000.com/firsttofight.htm

Plastic Soldier Review mentions the early war Germans are due some time late September, but it looks like the Polish Infantry will be right on their heels.

Looking at the pictures I can bet is Caesar who manufactures them...

It's almost time to go to jadar and place a huge order for First to Fight goodies, I think.

Quite a few Early War German sets have been already produced by Caesar.

If a further set of WW2 Germans “must” appear on the market, ad least I would have prefer that will be made from a brand new point of view, no matter how good the Caesar figures are.

The Polish are excellent news, do…

Well, they are made for the Polish campaign. I take it as specific enough :D

Yes, you’re right. We need more specificity.

Beyond my understanding, the figure of a WW2 German soldier from Falaise campaign, scratching his ass while looking to the right has not been made yet.

(I’m joking; I know is all about sales…)

:-D :-D :-D

Finally I got them. Here they are. Plastic similar to the Caesar figures. 3 sprees in the box.

Thick connection at the helmet worries me a bit. Overall they look neat, and I'll probably get a box when I finally place an order at jadar.

Also, they say some of the boxes contain a sprue of command and MG34 instead of a third trooper sprue.

Thanks for posting the pics of the sprue. I like the poses pretty well. Not quite as excited about the sculpting and the mould.

The "standing tall" MG pose looks really a miss for me. The others are nice. I have to check in person about the sculpting and the mould, as indeed I can spot some problems in this pic.

I guess I am SO spoiled by Zvezda and Caesar. 45 years ago these would have been a nice addition to the first edition Airfix germans. Very disappointing.
And no- these are not by Caesar!
At least we get germans without Y straps -and that is about the only good thing about this set. The other is the attempt to make the helmets have the bread bag straps as foliage retainers (used throughout the war).
The soft plastic is not super glue-gable.
The kits seem much better.

Despite Yawns from the gallery!
The definitive german combat set is still NOT out there. (Revell Pz gren and Zvezda came close)
No Y straps (can use as Pz gren and infantry throughout the war )
Open collars (as worn in combat)
Mixed rolled/long sleeves and long/short boots

kaktus, don't you know: this series will include ONLY german and polish armies? "Russian agressors" aren't planned?

Those poses for the heavy weapons seems a bit too flat for me...
