1. "Dioramica" 2016

Posted by Cryns on 09 Jul 2016, 14:52

Wolfgang thanks for showing the pictures.

As far as I can see it seems the 3D printing of this monumental gate turned out very well. Real baroque lions, with their funny big mouths. Did you have to remove any imperfections from the 'print' before it was painted?
Is there more WIP pics on your other sites? I am curious how many pictures of the real gate had to be taken to create a digital 3D model.

And I like those fantastic Romans too.

Hi Lodewijk, thanks,

the gate itself is 3D printing. The lions has Jörg Schmäling of art miniatures modelled with Green Stuff.

As it comes to figures and figure-related modelling, Frank Becker, from Seevetal near Hamburg, is a true do-all. But he is best known for his tapletop scenarios, which he produces in huge numbers and to the highest standard. Moreover, he is one of the people behind Hamburg’s ‘Tactica’, an annual meeting of the national and international wargaming community.
Apart from his miniature wargaminig activities Frank still finds time to create historical dioramas in 1/72nd scale. Co-operating with Dirk Tietten, he is about to finish a prime example of these quality dioramas, showing Napoleon taking leave of his Old Guard after his first abdication in April 1814: ‘Les Adieux de Fontainebleau’.

We are glad to be able to announce that Frank and Vasilije (Vasa) Lalić will be presenting an introduction to historical wargaming to the visitors of the First Dioramica

It would be a great honor to participate in this wonderful exhibition but I am convinced that my fund of animal figures is still too small to be presented impressively. Nevertheless, I firmly planned to visit you as a guest and interested spectators. Perhaps there is also the opportunity to come to talk with many of you excellent modelers. I hope to see you!

How about everyone of us visiting or participating at Dioramica wears a small name tag with his or her Benno's username so that one can recognise the others? I know they do it on other forums and in my opinion is a good idea.

The DIORAMICA will also be a great meeting of users of Bennos Forum. The idea with the name tag is already good, that we should perhaps do so.
We can design a name tag.
But I would have to know which member wants to come.
So far, these members of “bennos"are taking part:

Egbert
Blonder Hans
Sberry
Ray Caruana
Mr. Cryns
Fritz
Roland Kupski
Wolfgang Meyer
Dirk

Sorry, but I won't be there as well. There's an inevitable date that won't allow me to travel with some other folks as planned, so I can only say that I wish you'll have a great day at that show.
