Posted by Brushpunk on 22 Nov 2009, 00:36

I bought some old Airfix minis on the Fleamarket and got a bag of 1/72 cowboys and indians for free. Does anybody know who makes them? The sculpting and casting is Awesome.

I have some larger scale Hong Kong rip-offs of those figures. They are indeed quite good, but I have no idea who makes/made them.

I can remember playing with them in the 80's in 1/35. I've never seen them in 1/72. Don't know about the producer, sorry.

Take a look:

hi Brushpunk,
the figs are downsized 1/32 Airfix bots but never sold by Airfix.
They came in cheap plasticbags from Hongkong.
i painted some of them here http://www.bennosfigures.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2710

They are definately scaled down Airfix bods, reproduced in Hong Kong etc.
They seem to be the same lot that make these play sets with 1/72 scale bods with oversized missile launchers and tanks,or khights with a tiny castle. Usually sold on Holiday campsites or tourist type places. Next time I see a bag of these I´ll remember to buy it or at least remember the name of who makes em.
See Link, Thanks to whoever tidied up the link

There were also some others that were around 30 + years ago like these, the horses were all in one pose and Hollow.

I have some of these as original airfix in 1/32 and also some Hong Kong copies in the same scale.
the 20mm were only sold via HongKong Copies many jears back.
It is nice so see some of them, as these are some of the better ones and they have some very nice models.
cheers markus

These are out again...at least around here...in something approaching 25mm. They are being sold by Funtastic Toys at gas stations for about three bucks.

The only downside is the mounted figures are giants...like 30mm and yet the horses are tiny...right at 20mm.

The bag also includes a teepee, this squirrelly lookin' wagon, a cactus and...for some reason known only in China...a pretty sweet flat group of Palm Trees.

I've been painting some...minor conversions for u.s. cavalry...I'll post some pictures later.

I had those figures too in 1/72. Better than Revells Cowboys from my perspective. Unfortunately I have non left, could use them today.
