Surgeon Reynolds

Posted by Ochoin on 08 Jul 2016, 14:59

Fans of the movie, "Zulu" will remember this character, who in history was Lieutenant-Colonel James Henry Reynolds VC. He was a British army doctor, who, like his fellow doctors, dealt with dysentery and assegai wounds & yes, even Schiess' blistered feet

I'm trying to create a vignette to fit on my wargames' table of a British field hospital. I have a resin bell tent and two figures on stretchers from an IMEX set.

Any ideas for a doctor or a medical orderly?

Hi, Thomas. Great suggestion. I could even see me adding an apron.
However, not an easy figure to find.

Well i remember using those two guys in aprons on the left for my Flour Mill workers.
This early Strelets set is a rare set now though. BB

You may want to think out of the box...one of my little projects is recreating in 1/72 the painting by De Neuville of the defense of Rorkes drift, few of the poses exist, but one by one I am creating them or at least close enough for me. This has involved Frankenstein like conversions of arms ,legs a head swaps and a liberal use of green stuff to scratch build what I could not convert. If I have time later I will post a few photo`s
