1/72 elves

Posted by tom s on 24 Jun 2015, 22:04

my daughter gave me the hardcover lotr set for fathers day and i have been rereading them since.
if i had not been sucked into fantasy sets before,i am now.
which sets of elves do most people favor for lotr?
ive now been looking to build up an elvish army and am not too sure about the alliance set.

I'm not sure there are many elves in 1/72 scale... I had ones from Caesar and they are excellent.

You can find infos about Alliance 1/72 elves here : http://72-multiverse.blogspot.hu/2010/0 ... elves.html, and see comparison pics too,
it seems Caesar elves are more suited for anatomical correct appearance
you can read about plastic 1/72 elves on 1Mac's blog too (cheapfantasyminis)

Thanks, Greg, for the shoutout! Tom, I recommend the Caesar elves as well, but it seems to be OOP. Since Caesar just released a bunch of new fantasy sets this year, I hold out hope that they'll release some elves one way or another, but you may be a long time waiting.

The big problem with the Alliance elves is that they are really tall and gawky, but I still find them useful for headswaps and other mods, if you're up for it. Eureka's 18mm wood elves are also tall enough to work for 1/72 scale: http://72-multiverse.blogspot.com/2009/ ... elves.html
