Question regarding Foreign Legion figures

I have a question, to the members, more deeply into military and uniform history than me. Is it possible to use the emhar french infantry for the Crimea/Franco Prussian War as Foreign Legion for the North African thatre, or are there too many differences? Thanks in advance!
