Hi everybody,

Here is my foto review of Zvezda mini set British 3 inch Mortar.

Just a beautiful set. Little pricey. Blends good with figures from other manufacturers. no glue needed.

Nice work, just a shame the crew have the gas mask case on the chest so they can only be used for early war.

Very nice figures. Well painted too,I like them very much, but my word, the price of these is through the roof ! ( to higher price!) My best illistration of these would be to compare them to boxes of breakfast cereal in the 1950`s,where Mother bought them for you and you always got a tiny free plastic toy inside too ,but with these boxes there is no breakfast cereal just a tiny toy in an almost empty box. Great if you wish to buy em,but not me.

All the sets in this range are to be welcomed especially the 2pdr. Thank heavens there ARE gasmasks on these figures. At least Zvezda is unique in producing BEF 1940 style figures. Lets hope they also do some French 1940 in the same style as the majority of the Allied troops were French. The many early German figures do need some opponents! I know that it is traditional for some on this site to trash all HaT products but I would welcome their future BEF set if it ever appears!

With the exception of a couple of WW2 French sets and HaT Polish set the first couple of years are totally ignored. Caesar did have a Dutch and Belgium in their pending set but now seem to concentrate on the Eastern front!

Clearly, some of the leading companies need a history lesson - WW2 in Europe started in September 1939 with the Germans and Russians invading Poland not with the invasion of Russia in 1941. The joint collaboration in carving up by the Soviets and the Germans of Europe is almost totally ignored. (Germany sells?)- But then the victors can rewrite history to suit themselves - The Patriotic war being a obvious example.
