Hey thanks for the imput both, you've steered me in the right direction.
Christiaan, I think you're right about the WWI Anzac's, they seem most suitable, except for the rifles (would it really be visible at 1:72, the difference between enfields and mausers?) and the pouches (which can be fixed with some green stuff and a knife I think).
I am not sure about the SHQ figures, they are nice, but I don't like the sculpting of the faces and hands, they look somewhat caricatural to me.
Were KNIL uniforms actually the same as European Dutch uniforms?
Peter, natuarlly I've searched Google for KNIL, and found many images and information (saved many images and even whole websites to my documents on the old pc). But that is what left me with the problem of what figures to use, as there are none
As far as the WWII Anzac's are concerned, the look great (even with the wrong rifle) and the pouches seem more correct than the WWI, it is the lower legs that wrong, as the KNIL had straps around the legs, same as the European Dutch army.
So about your offer, that be a very interesting offer, it's just that the lower legs are wrong if they want to pose for KNIL soldiers (leg straps) and that would be hard to fix with a knife and green stuff
but I'll think about it, because those Matchbox figs look great, best of all the Anzac sets.
