Strelets 170 and 171: French Old Guard

Posted by Koppi on 10 Jun 2018, 08:48

Today my thoughts about the announced two sets of the french guard at Waterloo.
Today a friendly reenacter helped me to descibe the set with the terms of the french regulation.
So a more detailed description than usual.

Report in german and english.

As the Guard were rarely actually deployed the standing at ease seems quite a nice addition. Great potential for some chopping up for casualties when they are engaged.

The at attention is somewhat more restrictive.

Yes, I’m very curious and even impatient for the Grenadiers at ease set. I study the masters now and then and see indeed quite some possibillities for wounded, but mainly for dead conversions.
Still can use the at attention set too.
With all the new Prussians and longcoat French a big expansion for my Last Attack of the Grenadiers at Plancenoit project!
