Huge pictures

Posted by Peter on 27 Aug 2011, 18:47

Isn't there a way to set a maximum size on a picture you post. In some of the latest post there are really huge pictures, wich my PC doesn't like because they don't come alone, but in a large amount.

Can something be fixed for that?

If the pics are too big...I press return and don´t look...it jams my PC up.

Don't think something can be done about that Peter. Sorry. You could try Poky's solution (or get faster internet :joker: ).

Even with a brand new PC at work, I have that problem ;-)

An uploading program like we use on our google blogs would fix the problem (tiny, normal, big and very big). I copy the very big pictures from my blog and show them here. No problems with uploading. Maybe you could have a look at that?

this seems odd to me, but I can up or download huge pics on my little laptop, I just don't get the full view when downloaded (an annoyance but it works though).( Did I mention I have very fast internet? :-D )

I'm not really following you there Peter. Do you mean size in kb or size in pixels? I can't make the images less heavy in size (kb) but could install an image resizer to scale the images down.

800 pixels is a bit limiting. Modern displays are more than capable of coping with a 1024 or 1115 pixel width picture, so unless your computer comes with a built in telegraph, that should be OK.

I do agree that mega mega mega pixle ultra large pictures are a pain though.

First the pictures:

Small: 200 x 150 pixels; 6637 bytes
Image

Normal: 320 240 pixels; 12225 bytes
Image

Big: 400 x 300 pixels; 12501 bytes
Image

Very big: 640 x 480 pixels; 129685 bytes
Image

I uploaded these pictures on my blog directly from my PC. Then I pick the very big size and copy them to here. The other ones is just for showing what can be done with the size.

I have always used the very big pictures here, even when I uploaded my pictures at tinypic. In my opinion these are big enough. Hopes this clears out what I'm trying to say. ;-)
