Ok, that at the bottom of the forum screen/page side, there´s a list of people present, so called users online.
Those are divided up into;
1. Registered. (number of)
2. Hidden. (number of)
3. Guests. (number of)

So far so good. :-)
would it be possible to add onto this list, wether visible to guests or just registered (I would prefer not visible to guests, the same as our names)
4. Chatroom (number of)

that way it would be easy to see wether anyones in the chat at all because sometimes I log on, there are loads of registered online but in the chat no one or they have just left. I have "sat" there for an age sometimes and no-ones entered, go out then come back say 10 minute later and someone else has been there but also left again. The last time thids happened was a couple of weeks ago, Remco was there, but had gone 1/2 a minute before i entered, I left some silly phrase, went again, 10 minutes later went back, Remco had been, then Maurice but both independant of each other and both for a short while then gone again.

If it could be seen that someone "was reading the free monthly Womens own" and waiting then others would join.....or?

Chris thinks it´s a good idea, but maybe he has a different reason/s for thinking so.

CHRIS!! :help:

I think its a great idea I have been put off going into the chat room because you don't know if anyone's in there. Then again it might put people off going if no one is in there chicken and the egg I think, but on the whole a great idea.

I would like to bring something in rememberence:

Benno wrote:The new homepage will have:
- the most recently posted blog posts (I'll add a blog to the new website)
- latest news (could be forum news, website news, gallery news etc etc)
- recently active topics
- current painting competitions
- latest tutorials
- people online in the chatroom (I'd like to try if this is technically possible)

..and there is room for more. If you've got any good ideas, let me know.

So, I think Benno is on to that.

BTW: would be a great adding to the website/forum

You worried about drive-by chatting Paul? :-D

Nicely put though, and yes maybe only visible to registered users would be good.

What you quoted was for the website homepage, but this is for the forum.

Excellent idea Paul, I can look whether I can implement this.

I knew that you mentioned it for the homepage of your website, but it's the same chatroom, isn't it? And now the tab for the chatroom only appears when you log in on the forum.

Now I'm confused. Why does everyone that visits the homepage has to see who's in the chatroom? It's always been a part of the forum.

I hope that no-one will see "whose" in the chatroom, just that there are/is people/someone in the chatroom.

My idea was that only the registered users can see whose there, and I still think it would be better that only registered users could see whose online where ever on the Forum/webpage whatever. The "geusts" (IMHO) would/should only see that there are so many users online, the registered should be able to see how this is made up, for example 100 users, 25 from that are registered and the rest "geusts". The "geusts" only ever see 100 users, wether they be on the Forum or the website, or both or ..........whatever. :? :-)

.....or if It´s not possible or wanted that the registered names be hidden from guests etc, then might it be possible to have the list (at bottom of the forum page) to be the same as it is, but that the coulour of those that are in the chatroom shows up different....say red for examle?? or in a different type face...Italics maybe??
