Postimage is locked

Posted by sansovino on 11 Apr 2018, 22:25

Photo-hosting seems to be a difficult task - almost impossible!

Now the hosting-service post-image is "locked by Registry" and all photos are disappeared for third partys.

I am looking for a more confidential and working photo-hosting. Who knows any?

I see no problem with Google Photos.

Simply upload and copy the location address, then use this site https://ctrlq.org/google/photos/ to get the code to embed.

I've been using it for several months.

I was able to sign into my account at photoimage,
and I ignored the locking message and went to` download another', so it downloaded these pictures of little importance. So it is still therefore working for me. :-D

Old napoleonics above. All these just samples put into place after the stop sign appeared.

Of course lots of my pictures are gone, causing utter ruination to projects.

However there are by far worser things we must face in the real world. BB

I've been using Imgur recently - seems to be working fine for me so far. Free and easy to use. There's even a BBCode for message boards & forums so I don't have to use the . :-)

I'm also using Imgur now. Works nice and there's even an app for the cellphone!

Just used Imgur for the first time. I found it easier to use than Post Image.

After the Photo Bucket extortion racket this is yet another blow as all my Post image pictures have vanished.
Apparently they have a server issue rather than anything malicious.

I tried reposting the link and it seems to work.

I will update my Quatre Bras posting and see if that resolves the issue.

It is most disheartening to see your work disappear from forums after so much effort but hopefully all is not lost.

Yes I`m sorry your photographs have gone too Chris. I am now using tinypics myself as my account was left open there. It is a bit slower than I`m used to, but the pictures are turning up where I intended them to go. I`m so fortunate that all my stuff is on file, and topics are on my blog otherwise it would have been devastating to lose the lot. I would think Benno might be concerned by this strike two, because strike three certainly means, U R OUT. BB

Watch out with Tinypic. Their Hosting Service isn´t that stable, leading to pic URLs getting swapped and as Tinypic is owned by Photobucket, I assume it won´t be Long until they start locking accounts for ransom as well
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TinyPic

Best advice. Create categorised files of your pics on sticks or whatever as back up and use Google pic to host them, in blog from or whatever. The blog can act as just a host for the pic URLs, no-one actually has to become a "Blogger", just use it as another online set of categorised Picture files.

And if that goes to the wall, then well all have to go back to having photo Albums and showing them to people physically :-D

I am now able to post from Postimage through ,`Default', where they are filed in ordered ranks like a large box of smiling red rosy cheeked toy soldiers. Hopefully without loss later.
Time itself will eventually tell as it marches along in staves of relentless change. ;-) BB
