I can't really, as I don't have the Caesar figures.
Photos of them look great & they *are* Caesar - my favourite 1/72 manufacturer.

I would think the 3d printed ones have finer detail. This just goes with the territory. eg the cloth (painted red) is very thin & swirls around very naturally.

i had mine sized at 28mm - I did want them to be a little larger than 1/72 so they'd have presence. NB you can get away with all sorts of things with fantasy. I would think they'd be comparable to the Caesar skeletons.

Given the high cost of mailing to OZ, and various taxes & tariffs, mine would probably be cheaper than sourcing & buying a box of Caesar figures.

My opinion is the Caesar ones would be excellent figures, too. If you have a box(s) of them, you are a lucky man.

Many years ago (in 2011), I needed skeletons and so I bought one box of the Caesar set. I had no use for the vampires and some other figures, but the skellies were really useful. I wanted to create a scene where a troop of Roman soldiers discovers the site of the Varus defeat, with the unburied casualties etc.:

Looking at your excellent diorama has got me thinking.....make one of them a standard by fixing it to a pole?
A bit macabre, I know.

I agree, Donald. For me too, Caesar Miniatures is my favourite manufacturer in 1/72 scale, both for the quality of their figures and for the variety of sets they produce, as well as the type of plastic they use, which is ideal for my inevitable conversions.

I think macabre elements in our hobby are fine, at least within certain limits. For instance, I would never build a crucifixion scene, even though I am a huge fan of Roman history in all its facets; for me, that would be something of a taboo.
But in the case of an innocent fantasy project, I think a skeleton on a pole would be perfectly acceptable! I actually would love to see the result!

I absolutely agree: the sculpting, the moulds, the poses, the historical accuracy and the broad range of epochs ... Caesar Miniatures sets a standard of what can be achieved with 1/72 plastic figures.
