I have long been an admirer of your work Elsi. Your output is admirable and the vast majority of your subject matter coincides with my own interests. However, if you may I would like to offer a little constructive criticism. I think your bases are a bit too bright for your figures. I learnt by observing the work of others that the minis themselves should be the focal point and the base merely a compliment. I think if you used a darker static grass, even with the odd flower here and there, then the viewer would be drawn to your figures and not be dazzled by having too much to look at.
Of course we all have our own tastes and at the end of the day we have no one else to please other than ourselves. Nevertheless, a little experimentation is always worthwhile.

You have made a splendid paintjob on those fantastic Zvezda figures with your usual bright colours style, elsi.

Only one curiosity: are the shield designs decals or hand painted?

Hi. Thank you, I'm glad you like them. Before that, people complained that the stands were too dark. I might try something in between.

Hi. Thank you, I'm glad you like them. Yes, I drew the designs on the shields myself.

Wonderful work.

I have returned from holiday having feasted on various books about Roman campaigns.

Best wishes,

Chris

These figures are really superb. And the shields are the cherry on the cake.
