I'm Spartacus!

Posted by TK on 03 Jun 2025, 21:02

Hi,

I painted the army of Spartacus for wargaming the slave revolt in 73-71 BC.
The backbone of the army from the 2 great Strelets-R Spartacus sets, but I used many figures from Orion, Italeri, Caesar, Linear-B and Miniart too.

Wow, Krisztián, you've achieved a superb Spartacus' slaves army. :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:

I've been browsing your blog and am amazed at the almost limitless variety of figures you've created from a few originals, combining fantastic conversions with different paint schemes. As a huge fan of conversions, I can only congratulate you on yours: they are magnificent.

Great work!

Santi.

These look great! The figures all blend in together so well. Are you planning on painting some opposition for them to rough up??

Beautiful painting and composition.
It is so hard to have so many individual figures nicely painted - your very neat and precise own style. These are all unique and still add up to a moetly crew with some kind of unity.
I was wondering about the standards. Representing a runic S for Spartacus seems strange to me. Guess their standard and field signs would all have been looted Roman ones. They failed because of lack of central organization and the lack of capacity to create a homeland. Only thinking and wondering... :read:
Many greetings

The last picture is very good. Looks like a big scene with two colorful armies.
