The 13th in Spain

Hello again. I am currently serving in the military for the next 5 months so I don't have much time to paint, but in my first week off I finished another cuirassier, this time of the 13th regiment which was present in Spain. I made sure his uniform and the ground are relevant to his situation -so a lot of brown on this guy- and you can find some more information below. This time I got the white a bit better, put more shades on the cuirass, and used a different technique on the horse, which is not only faster than simple layers but also produces a better looking result. Still too afraid to freehand the regimental number though.

Also a big thanks to Patrick for sending me an officer and a buglar which I was missing, so these will be painted as well, when the time allows.

Oh no, it's just a cheap TCL model I bought for 120 euros. It did turn out to have a pretty good camera though, which for me was the most important. But it's surely a mediocre camera compared to others on the market.

I refuse (on principle) to own an Iphone so that's great. I tried using a Nikon D3200 with a lightbox and couldn't get results anywhere near as good. Looks like I'll have to get that model of phone and ditch the digital camera which was sadly top of the line a decade ago. It's already obsolete. Thanks for the reply Ioannis.

I don't know if it helps but I always take pictures with natural lighting, never inside. It really makes a difference.

Fantastic paintjob again, Bendy.
it takes courages to try new painting techniques but it turned out very well I see.
The close ups of the horse show the 'texture' of the horse skin very well.
I also like the way you did the shading on the cuirass.

I have to echo all of the above. The detailing you bring in is terrific, the treatment on the horse's hide and the cuirass is beatiful.
I hadn't realized the 13th was formed from provisional regiments in Spain although I had read about those provisional regiments in earlier encounters. I believe there weren't many cuirassiers active in Spain because the terrain didn't really favour heavy horse. I read that their cuirasses were rarely worn because of the heat!!
