This week’s little experiment

This week’s little experiment, I used some figures from HaT Set 8069 Dacians, I removed the large oval shields and replaced them with round ones, and painted them up as Saxon Fryd, hopefully when they are integrated with my other figures they should mix in ok?
They are led by a Newline Designs Gothic Officer who is now a Saxon Thegn.
The two casualty figures are from Linear-A Set 030 Tarentine Horsemen of Magna Graecia, but again they are now Saxon Fryd.
HaT Set 8085 Gothic Cavalry provided the Saxon cavalry.
And because I had painted some Saxons, I had to even it out by adding to my Norman army using Revell Set 02550 Normans.

Oh, those Normans were one of the first figs I had as a kid.

I love it when forum members think outside of the “box”! I don’t even know what Dacians are but I think they make a very good Saxon Fryd.

Nice figures . Hat's Dacians really can be used for thousands of roles, from early germanic peoples to late medieval peasants... very versatile set.

Roman Dacia was a province of the Roman Empire from 106 to 271–275 AD. Its territory consisted of what are now the regions of Oltenia, Transylvania and Banat (today all in Romania, except the last one which is split between Romania, Hungary, and Serbia). During Roman rule, it was organized as an imperial province on the borders of the empire. It is estimated that the population of Roman Dacia ranged from 650,000 to 1,200,000. It was conquered by Trajan (98–117) after two campaigns that devastated the Dacian Kingdom of Decebalus. However, the Romans did not occupy its entirety; Crișana, Maramureș, and most of Moldavia remained under the Free Dacians. (wikipedia )
