You were missed, Benno! And Crete, 1941

Posted by Bill Slavin on 06 Jul 2022, 14:30

I just wanted to say how much I missed seeing the forum while it was down. I really hope your vacation was worth all of our collective angst, Benno! :-D

But as it is a figure forum, I thought I would post something a bit different for me. I had my WWII toys out of the cupboard the other day and we payed through Operation Mercury, a scenario I wrote a few years ago based on the German invasion of Crete. Here are a couple of pics, featuring one of my favourite Italeri sets, their German Fallschirmjager in tropical uniform (which they wouldn't actually have worn yet in 1941).
The full battle report is here, if you are interested.

Fine work and a very convincing dry and rocky landscape. I've also had a look at the full battle report on your tiny-wars blog and it is all most impressive! :yeah:

PS: I agree also with your remarks on the Italeri Fallschirmjager set in tropical uniform, a fine set of miniatures.
