Happy Orctober!

Posted by blacksmith on 19 Oct 2021, 18:34

To celebrate Orctober I put aside my Vikings and hastily painted one miniature of each pose from the Dark Alliance Orcs Set 1 box.
They look better in the flesh I must say. Next ones will be with black armour instead of metal, but once I finish painting all Vikings.
In the pics they look like they need their eyes painted but from tabletop distance you can't tell.

Shields from Dark Alliance are always facing backwards :(

And a happy orctober to you! ;-)

Like them all!

Never noticed that about the shields, but you're right. Only in set 3 you find one with the shield forward. :eh:

Yes, I suppose that way it is easier to cast models but it totally spoils the miniature in my opinon. Nobody would use a shield like that. Cheers,

You're too kind PhilC, thank you very much. Your idea of a Goblin chariot is genius and the execution top notch. I can't get it out from my mind. Hobby juices flowing.

Hm, I´m not a specialist on orcs, but I seem to remember they are not known for their brightness. Maybe they think shields are only useful after battle, to serve the corpses of the fallen for dinner?

I think they use them as umbrellas to block sunlight.
