Omon - troops of the Russian Interior Ministry

Posted by praga on 26 Nov 2020, 16:43

Finished today - the glue hasn't dried yet.
The figures are from AlexMiniatures. The best resin figures in 1:72 - my opinion.
The vehicle is from a Polish manufacturer.
It's a diecast vehicle that I disassembled, then I painted it and put it back together. The tree is a dried flower stem from the garden with foliage from Mini Natur.
Regards, Jens Hilgraf

Great to see these figures from Alex painted! Really like them! And the small diorama too of course! ;-)

Great work and nicely painted uniforms. I would only make those brown and ochre stones on the road more subtle.

In a year gone crazy with lawless rioting in cities, the wonderfully created scene has significant poignancy. Top notch vehicle, figures, and base work. Maybe add a scattering of bricks and rocks to point out an ungoing attack.

Great work on the diorama and figs, PRAGA.
I feel really relieved not to be on front of these men and his "tools"

Fantastic work, praga, I have become speechless.

Just one question. How you made the letters on the back of the figures? Are they handpainted or are decals? I would need to achieve something similar in future figures. ;-)

Thank you very much in advance. :-)

Fantastic miniatures, agreed, and a very neat, excellent diorama. I'm getting flashbacks to the news from these.

Very nice indeed and unfortunately very topical.

The street looks great and the weeds add to ‘feel’.

Lovely detail on the vehicle.

I once met some French CRS guys in a bar ( socially) and believe me you would not want to fall out with them!

I can only assume that these guys have a similar aptitude .

Best wishes,

Chris

Santi Perez: Thats decals and they are included. Also, the helmet visors - they are small laser cut plastic parts.

I don´t like repressive police forces, neither in the west, nor in the east, neither in reality, nor in 1/72.
Your painting and diorama seems indeed quite well done. I am missing only the wounded civilians and theirs blood - sorry for this comment, but I am really irritated about different praises of this theme.

Thank you very much for your kind answer, Jens. :-D

I think I won't be able to make so high quality handmade decals at this small scale, so I will have to forget to include the words on the figures' backs. :(

Best regards.
