Cröbern 1813-Diorama

Posted by Wolfgang Meyer on 31 Oct 2020, 09:47

We have to reduce the size of our large diorama Cröbern in our museum in 1813 for reasons of space.
That's why I'll keep showing new pictures of the diorama here in the future.

Here are three pictures from the deployment of the Hungarian "Bianchi" division.

The four squadrons of the 8th cuirassier regiment "Hohenzollern" were painted by Peter and Paul here in Benno's forum.

The regiments in the diorama are all in their original strengths.

Always nice to look ...
It is and remains one of the most concerned dioramas ever to be administered. :love1:
My real respect for this achievement! :notworthy:

A burning barn on Güldengossaer Strasse. This is the farm of the Lehmann family.

In the meadows behind it, the Gossaer Graben also runs, there is a collection of Russian artillery that has fired itself and is without ammunition.

I am always astonished anew whenever I browse pictures of the Cröbern diorama, which is often.

What an achievement!

Ah that is from the time I was young and handsome! Now I'm only "and"! :xd:

Paul painted most of the figures, I only painted 143 figures of a total of 394.

The story and pictures of my part: HERE

Fantastic pictures as always but it is a pity that the diorama is being reduced as it is a magnificent, along with Mockern, sight to behold.

This project opened up to me following a link from the Napoleon site.

I have been in awe ever since and meeting Wolfgang in person along with everyone who made me feel so welcome at the Dioramica was a special occasion

Best wishes,

Chris

Dear Wolfgang,
Congratulation on the astonishing work !!!!
What brand are the Austro-Hungarians you used for the diorama?
Thanks a lot.
Gio.

Hi Wolfgang, hi all
Two years ago I visited your museum in Dioramica18 and I had the opportunity to visit your museum. It was an experience absolutely impressive and highly recommended. It's a shame you have to reduce the Croebern diorama. How much space do you have plan to reduce it?
This year I had a flight reservation to go to dioramica 20, it was a shame that it was canceled due to COVID reasons. For sure, I will go in the next opportunity, meanwhile, for all, the most important is stay safe, you and yours families and friends.

Thank you Jens!

Hi Pedro,

I can still remember our meeting at the last dioramica. Yes, it's a shame that we had to cancel our event this year. But it was a good decision! The next dioramica is sure to come.

I'll probably take the part of Bianchi's march away from the diorama. I can still show the whole village and the deployment of the grenadier division.

Best regards to Spain!

Wolfgang

Certainly one of the most impressive dioramas I have ever seen. The level of muddy realism here is an achievement par excellence.

Impressive, really.
I have seen representations of battles and dioramas in museums, but never something so magnificent.
I think that if one day I can visit that museum I will spend days looking at that work.
Congratulations Wolfgang, to you and to Paul and Peter.
Guys, I think you've made history.

I am happy that I have seen twice your impressive battle of nations-dioramas. It´s a pity to reduce them now, but we know that they will get new "sisters" which won´t be less attractive and creative.
Wish you too the best for your new museum project, your new house for still more worlds in 1/72.

ps: Some years ago I have visited the french army museum in Paris, where only the battle of nations was missing in the long list of napoleonic battles. A trauma of the french? Waterloo was well presented!
