My first attempt at painting Thracians. Figures are from Newline Designs, HaT and Zvezda.

They look really good!
I like the painting style, but also the mixing of different manufacturers: This yields a nice variety, adding to the realistic impression of these figures.

They look fantastic, the basing is particularly effective.

I also like the fact that you've kept the overall tones quite earthy, all too often Ancients can end up looking too gaudy and colourful. Which probably wouldn't be the case during a dusty battle!

My words! A colorful, flashy appearance was highly valued among ancient armies. But given the natural dyes available back then and the dust and dirt of campaigns and battles, one must be really careful not to overdo this - otherwise you end up with figures that rather look like bright toys. In those figures shown here, I think the color balance is just right.

Love the mix of minis from different companies and very earthly colours!
