Lord of the Rings

Here are some Dark Alliance 'Half Orcs'. Not sure how they got this range past the copyright laws but I'm glad they did. These are excellent figures and I really enjoyed painting them.

These look really good, It's hard to paint anything so dark yet delineate all the parts. I'm a bit confused over the Half-Orc label (I Haven't read the books in a couple decades). These look like Uruk-hai, those orcs bred by Saruman and you've got the White hand appropriately on them. I vaguely recall something about human-orc hybrids but can't remember where it appears and the context. At any rate fine job painting these beastly fellows. Bring on the siege ladders!

They do look the part. Prefer your other work, but half-orcs can hardly be considered nice. And I think they just forgot about that copyright-bit.

Great work, I usted a very similar colour choice and technique for them

For sure copyright was not an isdue for Alliance... What copyright is needes for words "half" and "orc"? Heheje

I agree ! excellent work on those half-orcs ! the dark skin is a good choice like they are not green ( neither goblins ).

For the "copy-rights" , Uruk-Hai is under copyright , but like said Gunnar, not "orc" and "half" ( or goblin, elf, dwarf ). "Hobbit" is protected but not "halfling", half-man ...
If I remember, they were created with "dark-elves", those who fall long time before the War if the Ring into the Sauron's dark-side.

Thanks for all the nice comments. I'm pleased they have made this range as it is a nice change from historical uniforms. And I'm surprised by how good the two half orc sets I have are. I'm looking forward to getting some other sets form this range in the future.

Here are some Dark Alliance Rohirrim (Steppes warriors). Very well produced figures with lovely details. I think if PSR were to review this set they'd be close to giving it 10/10.

Excellent painting Rich!! Hmmmm I guess I may headed down the Tolkien path again. My buddy and I have close to 4000 thousand 40mm Tolkien figures. But these look too tempting to pass over.

Marvellous stuff Rich! These are super sculpts and your painting captures the relentless power of the Rohirrim (Steppes Warriors) and the menace of the Uruk-Hai/Wargs very well.

Very nice painting on these figures. The steppes warriors could probably join some Arthurian army, but the half-orcs and wargs? Hmm, a little bit harder.
