The Battle for Dolitz & Probstheida Oct. 1813

Posted by gbvarese on 14 Jul 2019, 19:31

Dear all,
After a long period of absence from the forum due to family and job problems, I'm back with a new contribution. It consists of a unit participating in the above mentioned battle. It was commanded by Barclay de Tolly. For the aim of the game such a unit has the size of a division, and in this sense Barclay acts in the role of division general.
It includes: Prussian fusiliers, regulars and Landwehr, while the Russians field 4 line battalions and 1 jager battalion. The Landwehr btns. consist of the sets recently issued by Hat. Their flags are taken from the website "Warflag". It's interesting to notice, that the size of the Landwehrs make them compatible with the Revell's Prussians
You comments are welcome as usual.
Gio.

Nice!
I don’t have much problems with the Hat Landwehr sets actually. Good enough so to say.
For more variety in my Russian advancing troops I purchased the figures from Leon (see elsewhere on this forum, use the search function). Three advancing poses more as an addition to the Zwezda ones makes quite a difference. And also some by Hagen Miniatures.
But nevertheless an excellent paintjob and the combination of manufacters work very well!
:yeah:

Very nice indeed.

Super painted troops displayed in the ‘Grand manner’, large units that are visually impressive.

Brilliant.

Best wishes,

Chris

Dear all,
Thank all of you for you encouraging comments. The last year was very hard from many points of view, and I was not in the right mood of painting. Now things seem to improve so I recovered my enthusisam, and resumed my painting work.
I remember visting the site or blog of Leon, but I can't find it now. I would be grateful if Marc Zijp could help me.
Thanks Gio.

This should be the link to Leons Figs on the Hagen Website.

I am happy to see you here again! Very nice army.

Thanks MABO, I’m completely absorbed by the Tour these days so excuse for an absence of a reply.
I don’t even know when I made the response above.
Anyway: These are the three Russian advancing poses I meant. One Zwezda figure is placed aside as comparance.
You can buy them at Hagen (good service, I buy there every now and then), but I think it’s possible to buy them directly by Leon.
That’s what I did some years ago.
Good luck gbvarese!
Also in your personal life. A man with a hobby done passionately is always a rich man.

Fabulous display!

Beautifully painted troops, and looking spectacular in a massed formation in attack. I'm very impressed by the faces on Barclay De Tolley and the figures around him.
