matgc I want you to come clean - you’ve cloned yourself haven’t you? There’s no other logical explanation for how you’re able to paint so many well painted figures so quickly!

Those Franznap figures are very nice indeed. That marine uniform is very pleasing to the eye. And you have done an absolutely fabulous job of painting these, they really look quite magnificent.

Bonaparte, was very impressed with his sea soldiers when in battle because they held their ground and were very reluctant to give it up. Trained to fight on board ships there really was no where to run anyway. Well that is my thought upon the subject of all those fighting guys anyway.

Above is showing them in campaign dress with overalls over their legs, the curved sabre and bayonet, and neat cut short jacket. All clean shaved except for N C O`s. The lighter blue for the trumpeter, and the interesting long coat worn by others is also shown too.

So all these splendid looking Guarde Marins are in their dress uniforms which is a fantastic painted sight.

The British bestowed their sea soldiers the title of
Royal Marines when serving upon Royal Navy ships. BB

Thanks for the kind words, guys!

I enjoyed painting these fellows, they're beautiful sculpts, and such gorgeous uniforms!

Posted by AgaPablo on 11 Jul 2019, 15:58 Spain they did just two things: retaliate against Madrid's patriots, executing them on the May 3rd 1808 shootings (yes, they are the bad guys in Goya's painting), and surrender at Bailén on July 19th of that same year.
