Napoleon's young guard

Posted by Mr. Andrea on 19 May 2019, 18:50

I am concentrating forces to prevent an attack from Prussian landwehrs. Reconnaissance operations reported they are on their way to BFF. Time to deploy the young guard.

Fantastic paintjob like always Mr.Silverbrush. A set I like very much even if it is very basic compared to others on the market today.

Unfortunately the young boys will be brutally stopped by some tough Landwehr-Men from Westphalia...

This is a set of figures that looks a bit awkward straight out of the box, but you've got them looking very fine here. Splendid paintjob, the Emperor can be very proud of these troops.

Fantastic painting of these Hat stalwarts.

Personally I would have replaced the drummer and standard bearer as they are a bit silly in the scheme of things.

Nevertheless a most impressive collection to thrash the Emperor’s foes.

Best wishes,

Chris

I agree that the flag-bearer and drummer options for these figures are a bit awkward-looking, but in the scheme of things you've done a great job with these figures, Mr. Andrea! :yeah:

Thanks all for your kind words. I also agree that drummer and standard bearer are ugly, but I really needed them to boost troop morale while on the battlefield. I don't want to give any chance to those incoming Prussians!

You can now enjoy them more. BB

I don't know how you've done it, Mr A but you've sprinkled some of your fairy dust on these very basic figures and made them look absolutely super.

They might be 'young' but they are surely enough to see off a rag-tag scruffy band of landwehr? I'm sure a certain someone might have words to say about that though... :P
