The York and Grubenhagen Double battalion Square

Posted by Captain Sibourne on 06 Oct 2018, 11:20

Dear Forum members,

I present my latest effort, an 800 man double battalion square. The York and Grubenhagen square was in Kielmansegge's brigade at Waterloo and suffered considerably, but unlike the Luneburg Battalion the square survived, albeit in a diminished form.

You can see more on my Blog at: http://generalpicton.blogspot.com where you can read of the little known story of General Kielmansegge's arrest and subsequent release.

Many of the figures are conversions from the Hat 1806 Fusilier set with plumes and Trotter packs added.

800??? :eh:  I'm not sure I've painted so many in my life. :eh:
This is amazing work and one can see days and days of hard painting work.
But you should take care of mould lines (best example, two guys carrying their wounded fellow).

Prodigious output as always Captain S.

The Revell ACW officer chap looks nice along with all the other conversions.

Best wishes,

Chris

Great work again with another fantastic square! Have you got a grand plan for them all once completed?

Many thanks Bill, it did take rather a long time, I need to speed up a bit if I'm ever going to finish!

Nice to get a French perspective Mr S, although I would not wish to be among them.

Best wishes,

There will be cut ABS arms, legs laying around.
Smell of the melt plastic from the guns.
Fragments of paint in the air.
Loose connecting pins everywhere.
Hardened glue on the limbs.
Grass flakes in between.
Broken bases.

What a bloody day!
