The last of my summer projects was a conversion of some left over Portuguese artillery men to Peninsular British artillery and the scratch building of a few limbers to help them along.
The figure conversions were fairly easy, using some of the fine Portuguese Hagen metal figures I had purchased earlier this year. I simply added some lace to the fronts of the jackets and cuffs, tufts on the epaulettes and a belt and satchel to a couple of the figures.
The limbers were more challenging, but fun to build. Wheels are from some old Airfix cannon, horses extras from my HaT set of French limbers and riders are from my ancient Airfix set of British horse artillery. Limber chassis I built myself. I go with two horse limbers for my games simply because they take up a more reasonable amount of real estate on my gaming table even if they are historically inaccurate.
