Churchill in Normandie

Posted by MABO on 23 Aug 2018, 11:48

During this years vacacions I have the time to assemble some new models. Inspired by the locations most are for the Allied Landing and the Normany Campaign. Here is the first:

This is a Churchill AVRE 6th Assault Regiment. The model is from Plastic Soldier Company. It was easy to build and all parts fit very well. My fault: I glue the tank hatch in a wrong position in the turret and have to cut it off later to turn it in the right direction. I thought the commander could open the hatch to his left and right. :( ;-) The decals are from Peddinghaus and worked very well.

The additional stuff like bags etc. are from SHQ and Sgtss Mess. I use this stuff very often. It is cheep and - imho - looks good to individualise my models a little. I didn't build the area around it...
Hope you enjoy.

Beautiful model and your presentation is evocative of the region of Normandy. Thanks for sharing.

A nice clean build beautifully done, and I agree, the background is very evocative.

You have made a very nice job on the tank Jan and nature has made a very nice job on the scenery. They look really good together.

That picture of Princess Elizabeth in her wartime uniform has got me thinking, that would be a great bonus figure for some company to make. :-)

Very nice indeed.

The picture looking up the road is the most evocative in my opinion.

Best wishes,

Chris
