Pre-1812 French Line Infantry Command

Dear all,
I haven't sent any pictures for quite a long time due to my various committments.

I had the honour to be asked by Hat, to paint the six figures of their forthcoming set "Pre-1812 French Line Infantry Command". I did it and now it's posted on Hat's web site.
Here, with Hat authorization, I propose the same figures in the front rank of a French battalion (Hat set 8095) of the 3rd regiment (note the light blue coat of the drummer and the sapper) to test their compatibility. I believe the result is satisfing.

What do you think of it?

That officer marching with his sword out looks just as proud as a peacock. Very nice work.

The painting style is really nice. Good to see that set again... well... reminds me of that 100 I still have to paint. What I really like is the flagbearer conversion - it's still quite a shame that HaT forgot to put that figure into the regular set, as well as eagle guards or sappers.

Dear gbarese, your have painted the figures really wonderful in high end quality. You did your job really well.

It´s absolutly not your fault that I am shocked about them. I have waited like many others very long to see these figures from Haet on the market, but this waiting-time was absolutly waisted like it seems now for me. Which silly broad steps? - no marching soldiers will make such broad steps which will exhausted them already soon.
Which voluminous baby-trousers they wear? It´s a pity and a disaster for all Napoleonic figure collectors .. and unfortunatly also for Haet whose expected renaissance won´t have much success - also not in regard of only 24 figures in a set....
I hope still that I have misinterpreted the figures ..

Dear Sansovino,
The figures of the forthcoming set are six: the four that you see in the front rank, the NCO, on the left, and, on the right, the mounted colonel. The rest of the battalion, as I explained, is part of set 8095. You are right, in such a set, issued in 2005, there are a few strange aspects like the broad steps. I found that the new set is much improved in terms of uniform accuracy and poses.

I don´t see besides the command figures any possibilities to integrate them in my diorama-projects. I have taken now some time to study them better: Not only theirs steps, also their rifles and how they held the rifles are strange proportioned and positioned.
