Dear Forum members,

I've been rather distracted by work recently, but here's my band of the 7th Dragoons, inspired by this picture:

That's really something we don't see every day.

Very nicely done.

Dear All,

Many thanks - the front figure is a Franznap Bavarian with a Waterloo 1815 dismounted dragoon head.

The Band itself come from Eric Bahlouli. You may have heard the sad news that his firm at http://www.napoleonfigurines.com/Accueil-ccbaaaaaa.asp has closed. I asked Eric to sculpt these figures before he shut up shop and these are the results. I sent him some pictures by Historex of the appropriate musical instruments and the picture at the top and he then produced the set. I'm really pleased with the result and while many people find resin figures fragile, with the right care they can survive.

A very rare topic. Very nice figures. There are so many themes we need figures for, I think.

Thanks so much for sharing these. I love to see mounted bands but it's not something I'm likely to see created for the mass market any time soon, I guess. ;-)

When we're in whimsical mood, my wife and I sometimes talk about what we'd do instead of our boring jobs and where we'd live instead of our house on a boring housing estate. I often decide that I'd like to open a model soldier shop, spending my time just painting and sculpting. I then often think that my first release would be a British yeomanry mounted band set (1/72 scale plastic, of course). Until this fantasy inevitably comes true, this post will have to do...

Thank you Marvin, I hope one day your wish will come true. In the meantime, Eric Bahlouli has emailed, rather confusingly, to say that he isn't closing after all. Excellent news!
