78th Highland regiment - Strelets

I note that they have the belts in Buff but they also have the facings in Buff and not lLt Buff which the description says is an Off White for this regiment. Which leaves the question have they buffed it up? ;-)

Classic Light Buff

There's a couple of examples. As usual with colour, there's thousands of other Buffs to choose from. A proportion will be darker than I've posted but that Light Buff fits in well with the description.

We love discussions on colour don't we ;-)

Well. A-D looks - at least on my monitor - all like light buff. I've seen a lot of pics of (line or light) regiments with buff crossbelts were the buff looks more like ocre, but I think that the main question is how the belts would look like after a few weeks in the fields (weathering, dust, dirt, whatsowever). Just because most pictures show us the reglementary uniform... yeah, colour discussion, I know - but Fred, I got your point and I think you're right in this matter.

I'll fix that figure up and send a new picture, gimme some time...

Okay folks, here we go again.
a) corrected the socks
b) lightened up the belts
c) made some minor corrections.

And added a pic of the officer and another trooper, although, under same conditions, the belts here look darker as they are. A lighting phenomenom...

So here's some news - the bagpiper and the flagbearer. Hope you like them - I'm currently finishing some Badeners, so the next 18 Highlanders that I need to complete the whole set would have to wait a bit. ;-)

Thanks Peter, all pictures are on show now.

Wonderful painting, these look really good and the face on that piper is fabulous.

The pose of the piper is a bit of a problem but otherwise these look like a very nice set of figures. The excellent paintjob helps of course. :yeah:
