Jagdpanzer Ferdinand, Battle of Kursk, july 1943

Posted by huib on 03 Dec 2017, 22:00

This is my model of a Jagdpanzer Ferdinand, as several of them were photographed during and shortly after the Battle of Kursk by the Soviet Army in July 1943. This model is based on the Italeri kit of the Jagdpanzer Elefant, which is a rebox of the much older Esci kit. Only a few small changes were necessary to make it into a Ferdinand. The figures are Esci Soviet Infantry.

Wow! That is one beautiful diorama. I have watched but of your posts start to finish and neither have disappointed. So much detail, so much skill --- Well Done!

Question - what type of static grass do you use. That seems considerably longer that what I use and would really work well for some of the things I am working on.

Base is simple. Figure are well paint.

There is a lot of ideas, planning, scratch building and craftsmanship outside and inside these (ex) tracked vehicle.
I also like that the Ferdinand is driven a few meters after the detonation (hole) of the mine.
This is, how to say, good thinking, clever.
Very nicely done huib.

No, I'm sorry. I tried to make photo's with a view of the interior, but for me it is impossible to photograph in a way that makes sense. So you have to imagine it is there!

I do not remember what brand it is. I just bought it at my local hobby shop. But I know that some brands sell different lengths of grass, for example 2mm or 6mm.
