The uniforms don't have a single brushstroke of white on them ;-)

Very nice work on the painting, Fred! And they look great as a unit. Not very practical to have white uniform is the field, but very bright.

There were many countries used an impractical white uniform. 8) it does save money as opposed to a dyed fabric. :P

They're light grey and sepia, Kekso. We're used to a modern bright blue white which would be just wrong for that time period. There is white on this set of figures but it's only the sprayed primer and all that has been overpainted. On other sets of these Saxons I've used a grey primer and no white whatsoever.
