Russia 1812...

Posted by Egbert on 15 Oct 2017, 12:40

My last completed project ...
Late summer 1812,
somewhere in Russia on the way to Moscow ...after the Battle of Borodino ...
A group of French "Red Lancers" (2e régiment de chevau-légers lanciers de la Garde Impériale)
just want to leave the Little farm.

Inspiration for the dioramas was the following picture.

Image

Since I had been planning to present a small scene with the Guard-Lancers in Russia,
I have used the beautiful figures of Francesco Messori (Franznap Miniatures)
with corresponding smaller conversions and changes of the uniforms.

Hi, I write my emotion in simply words: I hate you! ;-)
How you could make it so good? Water, trees, buildings, painting figures, all scene. Beautiful! Now, I new, how long way I have to pass, to be even half so good as you. I love your work!

Oh, wow, that's beautiful. The stream, bridge, houses, setting...
And I love the soldier springing on to his horse. Such wonderful mood. Just fantastic!!

These pictures are fantastic and the realism is superb. Totally believable.

I personally do not think the livestock will be around for too long however!

Well done, inspirational stuff.

Best wishes,

Chris

Painting turned into a 3D miniature. Phenomenal work. The Russian farmstead is replicated beautifully. Figure painting and scene composition are top notch. Bill

Since I've seen what you can do I didn't I would be surprised, but I am! And happily so! You have overdone yourself with this!

on top of the comment done already (which I fully agree with), I can say that what I like most is the total absence of war, the peace that emanates from the dio. Really a great job!!

A beautiful finished scene, I love the shots with the wooded backgrounds.

Your buildings are perfect renditions of the ones in the picture, incredible!

Hi Egbert,

First of all do you realy think that we believe that this is a diorama. NOT! I now you hired figurants and a photographer to make pictures of this scene. There is no way that these are plastic figures and the scenery... no one can make it look so real like this. So my conclusion.... dont try to fool me again....

Secondly... i dont think i have ever seen a better more realistic diorama than this. Incredible    :yeah: :yeah: :yeah:
