French grenadiers (Esci)

Posted by Arbogastiz on 15 Sep 2017, 21:07

Hi, after longer break I come back to painting. Grenadiers painted for my friend, Napoleonic Wars aren't my favourite period. C&C welcome

I was never tempted to buy this set after seeing pictures of it on PSR but, honestly, your painting has made them look really good. The sapper, officer, firing, loading and advancing figures all look terrific.

The dodgy poses are still dodgy poses, but they're very smart looking dodgy poses :-) .

Arbogastiz--

You have a unique painting style that works quite well. The bases look excellent in these photos. My favorite figure is the sapper with the black beard. He really looks like he is ready to chop down some obstacles!

To be honest I have this set and not a huge fan. HOWEVER you have done a wonderful job. The painting is clean and consistent. Very well done. I especially like the dirt detail at the bottom of the trousers, nice touch.
Great job sir!

The painting is fantastic.
I especially like how you do the color white and the separation of the white crossing belts over it.
With the fine dirt at the boots as Bramble 15 already mentioned.

Esci plastic figures are top, still today. In all timelines they have made.
