My Mamelukes!

Posted by Marvin on 30 Jul 2017, 09:41

Hello!

Thought I should maybe post my Italeri Mamelukes, the latest figs from my now sizeable Nappy cavalry collection. The figures are excellent if rather tall! Certainly they were a different challenge for me, having to create so much different colour clothing rather than uniforms. :eh:

Should you feel so inclined - there's lots of unnecessary waffle on the blog post about them:
https://suburbanmilitarism.wordpress.com/2017/07/14/mamelukes-of-the-imperial-guard-nappy-cavalry-project-set-25/

Will I ever get tired of painting Napoleonic cavalry...

They look great, a very nice paintjob!
However, I had to switch to your blog to see them - no pics here. The notorious Photobucket curse strikes again ...

Hmm... annoying. Here's a test fix. I can't seem to edit my original post so may have to repost and ask Moderators to delete original?

I like the idea :yeah:
As it´s a lot of work for us few active Mods to fix all the pic links it could be an idea if members reposted the pics with the fix onto the original thread. That way the fixed pic links could be copied straight into the original post ?

Nice painting btw :yeah:

Thanks fellas. Weirdly, I'm still enjoying painting those horses - I almost look forward to doing that part of the painting now. ;-)

And thanks Paul - must be a pain in the backside for you moderators with the photobucket problem. At least I'm now forewarned and ready to counter the evil Photobucket's master plan. :sparta:

You may get tired of it some day (I hope not), but I will never get tired of viewing and enjoying your works!

I wondered for some months (if not couple of years) should I get this Italeri set or not.
Your magnificent work helped me to decide to go for it.

I seriously hope you won't

No probs :-)
I´ve just gone (from now until sept 2016) through 10 pages of your Posts (you´ve got 32 pages) and fixed a few threads Back to the strelets coldstream guards viewtopic.php?f=2&t=19525&p=211422#p211422
Problem is it takes a lot of time.--nearly an hour hunting them down and adding the fix.
If you´re up for it, as a test for speeding it up.
This thread
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=18571
I haven´t fixed the links yet but.....
You could Quote your original post with the broken links onto the end of the thread.
By quoting it Shows only the codes to which you could add the ~original fix.
Then I can edit the fixed pics into the first post (copy and paste) and delete the quoted one.

If it works and I believe it will, I could set up a Sticky thread in the Forum & Help section to which anyone could post links to threads they have self quoted with the fixed pic links and one of us Mods could repair them.

PS; sorry for the small hijack of your thread.

That sounds like a plan - just edited that one of my old posts with the ~original attached if that helps?... :-)

Not any more, it seems! Paul's new updating thread doesn't mean you have to stop drinking the beer though. :occasion:

I'm another one who won't get sick of you painting Napoleonic cavalry. Especially colourful, exotic looking cavalry like these.

Beautiful figures. Excellent horses as usual, the light bay second from the bottom is incredible. And I'm really impressed by the faces of the figures and the intricate lace work.

Great post.
