WWI German Trench dio.

Posted by Bramble15 on 31 Dec 2016, 18:07

I have for quite some time wanted to make/create a small WWI trench scene but always put it off until recently. Not sure if this is a true depiction but it works for me. Mixture of HaT and Airfix figures, which I believe go together pretty well. Not sure if I like the rolled wire. I tried to create a barbed wire effect multiple times using youtube videos as a guide. I just couldn't get it right. I may go back and try again as this wire is simply placed in this scene, so it is removable.

No way for the Entente. :stressed:
Nice painted figures.
Huge trench! Like a trap for FT17.
What is the man with his hand over the sandbag doing? Hold he a pistol in his hand: Or a pigeon with a message (nothing new in the west)?

Every stick of It works for me too. I like it a lot.
It is a neat job,and it seems all is quite on that front, and it`s the early part of that war,as they have pickle helmets. A thing I often admired when these guys were marching in parade.

One can get bogged down ,and well caught up concerning portrayal of the wire!

When I was a mere nipper,I used to use the thin fuse wire just rolled out as it came off the spool, and with the few mixed up soldiers in all sizes that I had ,from many counties ,the wire seemed a magic idea.
That is until the cat ruined the game by wanting to play with the darn stuff. BB

 " For the button counters,Metaphorical wire?????"
:sst: " And also a metaphorical cat,him wanting to represent Willhelm II Kaiser of Germany!" BB

I think the wire looks great. Trench and soldiers, too. Amazing how much the German uniforms changed from the start until the end.
