Thank you for your kind words, Carlos, Peter and rayloryan.

I take note of your request, Peter, and I promise to include a Belgian flag when I build a diorama with Hercules Poirot as star. ;-)

With these pictures I close the batch of full views. Next will come the close up photos.

Finally I have found some spare time to post the first close up pictures. Here you have and I hope you enjoy them.

The Spanish couple (you're right, they are identifiable as Spanish because of the flag and the national football selection shirt he's wearing while shooting with his video camera, despite the girl doesn't seem very pleased). :yeah:

The former Swiss guardsman (proud to be Swiss, obviously). :xd:

Image

The Argentinian family (I'm not sure of the proportion of readheaded people in that country, but what is sure is that they seem very proud of his fellow countryman Pope Francis). Next to them the Italian businesswoman and the nun, and in front of them the saluting unarmoured Guardsman. ;-)

And the last one for today, the head of the column watched by the enthusiastic crowd.

I like guards uniforms very much. Stripes are very neatly painted.

Hello to all.

After two months full of work and some health problems in my family, I'm finally relaxed enough to post a new batch of close up pictures of my diorama. I hope you like them. :-D

Another detailed view of the head of the column.

Image

The musicians opening the march: a fifer and a drummer (with Pope Francis coat of arms in the drum).

Image

The Colour Party: Sergeant Major carrying flag and two escorting NCOs with two handed sword (flag includes Pope Francis coat of arms upper left and that one of former Guard Commander Daniel Anrig in the centre).

Image

Three views of the complete column.

And finally for today a close up of the rear of the column: Sergeant, Corporal and Halberdiers.

Thank you for watching. ;-)

Thank you, Kekso. She is my mother and thank heaven she's already at home recovering from a problematic hip surgery.

Well, it's time to conclude this thread about my Swiss Guard diorama. And what better for a perfect end than see the Guards in their natural environment?

In the two first pictures we can see a halberdier column in front of Saint Peter's Basilica facade at Saint Peter's Square. In the last one we see the same column at Saint Damaso's Courtyard.

Hello, forumers.

I think that you all already know that Photobucket is no longer viable unless you upgrade your account for 3rd party hosting (almost 400 US dollars per year  ).

This has caused that all pictures published in this forum using Photobucket (including mine) have been blocked. :(

I have been suggested to use alternative vendors and am trying this one:

postimages.org

This is my first attempt to put some of my old pictures with this new server. I hope it will work. You will see in this post. ;-)

Cheers.

Santi Pérez.
