Orion Gladiators in combat

Posted by Xantippos on 14 Jun 2016, 07:01

Maaany years ago I started painting as I thought it would be very fun to have them painted, and basically to paint the tigers and lions in the set. I abandoned before finishing as I was tired of painting them and I was not sure how to paint all the leggings and arm bands, and after many years, I finished them and improved them as my painting skills had increased a lot since then.

The sand of the beach was perfect for my improvised Roman arena.

You can see more pics and a short review in my blog; http://toysoldierchest.blogspot.com.mt/ ... roman.html

Very nice to see these! Started with Italeri's gladiators but lost interest. Great to see these and you have a very nice beach! :-D

Revising my old pictures, I found I took a detail picture that I never posted, thought it might be interesting;

Did you take your minis to the beach? Well that's some dedication!

I've always liked those gladiators, very atmospheric!

Thanks :) . Yes, I actually took them to 2 different beaches, to take the best pics :) .

I found also a recorded video, and thought it gave a good 3d impression :) . This was when I had a very good camera, that was able to zoom/record from very close up!
